EKS Childhood Strokes is a specialist division of East Kent Strokes which provides advice and support to child stroke survivors and their families.
The division was set up by parents Tim and Tarnia Redfearn after their daughter Jessica had a stroke aged nine. They felt very isolated as all the main stroke support services were aimed at adults, and despite much searching they couldn't find a resource speficically aimed at either children or their families.
EKS Childhood strokes provides a network of support for parents, siblings and carers, and of course our brave childhood stroke survivors. Trips and activies are organised throughout the year for everyone - the more the merrier - and these events see families bonding and forming firm friendships that last.
As well as the forum on this website, EKS Childhood also has an active Facebook Group
