Welcome to East Kent Strokes
East Kent Strokes was set up in 2001 as a social group for adult stroke survivors. Early meetings took the form of lunches, but it was identified that some people wanted a coffee and a chat with others rather than a formal lunch; and so our coffee mornings were born.
In addition to the get togethers, members also requested social outings – and thus an annual calendar of trips and outings was established.
In 2011, EKS was joined by a childhood stroke group. This has become EKS Childhood Strokes and supports the families of child stroke survivors.
The charity has operated with very little external funding, and has been reliant on memberships and donations. Now, in 2019, we are actively seeking funding from a range of trusts and foundations to enable us to expand our operation and provide more for our members. We are also seeking to convert to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) in the near future.
We don't have a physical office location, but you can contact us on 07493 989567 or use our online form.
